Honestly I can't say much for a game that has a theme that's been done so many times before and yet still neglects to provide any real variation. The only variation is in the characters which are not all that much different other than thier color and that doesn't score too many points in my book. I think this genre has hit a creative wall. If you are planning on buying this title, makes sure you buy it USED so you don't feel like such a waste.
Two thumbs up. Hours of very fun, challenging gameplay, suitable for all ages. This is a great Tetris-style puzzle game for the PSP. Way up. If you like Tetris,Columns,or Klax, you'll love this game. Lots of great options and solid challenging gameplay makes this a winner. Five stars. A+
I loved playing my PSP, but hated that all the games in my collection take a long time to play. My favorite feature is that the game actually begins with blocks to shift, compared with Tetris where I always had to make challenges for myself on the first few levels so I wouldn't get bored. I really wanted something that I could play even if I only had five minutes, like Tetris. That's when I stumbled upon this game, which IMO is even better than Tetris -- I'm SO glad I bought it. I know it's already been said but it deserves to be said again: If you like Tetris, or games like Columns and Blockout for the old Sega Genesis -- This is a game for you. I've only owned it a few weeks and I've already played it more than any other game I own.
If you like Tetris, you'll like this game. Circuit City doesn't even have it listed. I think it moves faster than Lumines and that's one of the things I like about it (I can spend an hour and a half playing Lumines before one game ends--I've played the arcade mode for a half hour with 2 continues--more challenging, IMO).
There are different modes to play--single, practice attacks, against the CPU, arcade, etc. Most Playstation and PSP games make use of the same buttons to move from menu to menu--this game deviates from that a bit and it takes a little getting used to.What I don't understand is why it's not readily available in stores. If you like Lumines, you'll like this game.
One other "minor" complaint, navagating around the menus is a bit challenging. It loads fast and there isn't any lag time at all to start another game. The only thing I don't particularly care for is that the characters are more geared towards kids, IMO, unlike Lumines where the look and feel appeals more to adults (I'm 39) but that doesn't stop me from enjoying the action of the game and I love playing this game.
Best Buy only offers it online. I was able to buy it at Gamestop, although not all locations carry it.Like Tetris and Lumines, this game is highly addictive--a must have for fans of Tetris and Lumines.
